The Importance of Process in Education
I think grades are important. I want my own children to get good grades, I want students in schools to get goodgrades because that gives them more opportunity. But we also want them to be interested active citizens and have very strong mental health. There's so many things that we want for our students as well as grades but it is about thinking both of those. What you know about children applies to staff too. When children feel happy and challenged and they do better work staff are the same when they're happy and challenged they do betterwork. So there's purpose, there's mastery and then I do think we need a sense of autonomy.
