The Lord Hath Spoken in His Case Against Israel
In verse two, this is really where it all begins. This is going to be a court case, and he's calling everyone into the court room. So here, o heavens, give ear o earth, for the lord hath spoken. He's presenting his opening arguments in his case against israel. And he says, this is what i have against you. I have nourished and brought up children. That's the metaphor he wants to focus on.
