Hitler's Electoral Miracle

In 1930, the Nazis brought in nearly six and a half million votes. They instantly became the second largest party in the Reichstag. Hitler was not complacent, he had learned from his vene days that a mass movement must always have the support of existing institutions. Business interests began bankrolling the Nazi political machine. With his sudden electoral success, Hitler had become such a powerful force in German politicsthat the question in the minds of his opponents was how to prevent him coming to power.
