People who follow a money status script tend to focus on how having money and possessions can increase thait status in the eyes of other people. Money worshipper s overestimate how much money will buy them happiness or make them feel good about themselves. People who are hypervigilant about money allow their anxieties about money, their scarcity mind set, to turn them into misers.
Money worries are one of the biggest sources of anxiety in the lives of Americans. This week, we kick off our new "Money 2.0" series with psychologist Brad Klontz. He says that while external economic forces often shape our financial well-being, our unconscious beliefs about money also contribute to how well we manage our money.
