The Nomogram Is the Science Behind Acetaminophen Toxicity
The nomogram can only be used up to 24 hours after the exposure. It was developed based on actual patients that presented with acetaminophen toxicity and that didn't get treatment for it. Where you are in the world determines what the line is that you use. Our four-hour cutoff is 1,000 micromoles per liter. In the UK, there's some interesting history here, the line is 100. So they use the US units for their line and their line is even lower than the US line. Australia and New Zealand, I understand that they using the US line as well.
