The windows seven sound was designed to complement visually what was happening on the screen in a very clear way. The era that began with windows x p and continued through window seven was a dramatic shift for microsopt by then, it wasn't about being flashy or in your face. In a way, things had come full circle back to windows 95. Now, with windos vista, were back to synthetic textures, but they're not the synthetic textures of windows n t and windows 98.
