The Main Pitfalls in Management of Hypothermia

Patients who are hypothermic routinely need fairly intense nursing and clinical needs. This implies that they need constant and close monitoring to assess for response to therapy. Sometimes then I've seen this is that we re-warm a patient after the temperature has returned to normal range. And then things that would just keep a patient warm are stopped and actually patients cool down quite quickly again because they are predisposed to hypothermia. So once they are essentially re-warmed and we've got their core temperature back to where we want it, we need to ensure that we keep it that way as well.
