Is There a Legitimate Critique of Alteser's Political Economy?
Gyses: I think they pick up on altasers shortcomings and really like run with them. So basically, altaser isn't very successful in describing structurally bounded agency. There's a legitimate critique of technological determinism in the marxian tradition. But having said that, i think the overall argument is that marxism is a sensialist, atroductionist and loci facist. It thinks about the social realm as a homogeneous totality. And it can't conceptualize political contingency,. The working class doesn't even exist.
