When you have tens of thousands of subjects, that 4% shift above chance is a gazillion to one odds against chance. In our laboratory, we took the next step and used a one-way video system for the person being stared at. So once again, very rigorous conditions, do this on demand, we get real effects. Not as strong as what you'd see in the real world outside of the laboratory, but they're real.
