Introduction
A psychology professor at john tompkins university called kurt richter ran an experiment in inducing despair. Richter put various rats in various containers of water to swim until they were drowning. When the non aquatic animals were rescued, they could swim for expedentially longer. Being helped had not made them helpless. It had made them endure and mise. Are not people and vice versa. We can learn lessons about human altruism from what i hope is never to be repeated rodent suffering.
