Radicals and the Second Revolutionary Wave
As radical challenges to the moderate's mount, moderates often find themselves caught in a dilemma. Moderates are bound by their principles to allow their enemies to operate out in the open and thus allow the second revolutionary wave to build. Even after the Bolsheviks got caught up in an armed insurrection in July 1917, the provisional government was incredibly mild.
