Solar Cells - Silicon Is the Workhorse

Theory of maximum efficiency irrespective of cost is between 29 and 30%. Photons incoming light particles with very high energy still only produce one electron. The rest of the energy is wasted as heat. mono crystalline silicon has completely overtaken multi crystalline silicon, says Martin Green.
