The Importance of Time in Medicine
I think for many Americans, like health care is experienced as a very transactional practice. I see people willing to traffic with all these specialists in hopes that they will provide something that will give them more time. What seems completely unacceptable to our younger, healthier selves becomes acceptable when the alternative is death.
