The Theory of Time

Even if the universe's physical structure were unchanging, we would still have to explain the change that takes place in our immaterial consciousness. We don't think Fred reasoned of the conclusion just because Bob had reasoning a moment before him that logically fits in the block universe. The theory of time does not say that once the knowledgeable scientist exists, the ignorant scientist stops existing as if they were two different people.
