The Importance of Liveliness in Music

Music was set out in a rather different manner to what we're used to today. Music was either in choir book format, which had each part stacked on opposite sides of the page. The idea was that you'd sit around a table with your part in front of you and communicate across each other. So fantastic, so yeah, it's at this hinge point between two different ways of reading music. Maybe moving towards a world where a middle C is a middle C wherever you are in the world.
