Adam's Fork Smashed Into the Wood of the Table

Adam's right hand flexed violently, fingers to full stretch, before grabbing his fork and shoving its prongs into the wood of the table. The tinsel came down, and then the scraping, the terrible scraping up and down the wood as if carving a sculpture. It was over before anyone realized what had happened. Adam spent the next hour making up excuses at his supervisor's desk. He said he thought i heard something crawl ing in the wall. I have a phobia about these kinds of things. We please just look past this very bad day. His supervisor reluctantly agreed, but only if it never happened again.
