Is It a Class of Problems?
It's always a good idea to organize data in a way that allows you to easily answer the questions at hand. Even if it's not making a dramatic difference in the theoretical, you know average case or worst case runtime complexity. So we're also making your task easier, and the fact that we were able to make the task easier with not a lot of code. I think that's definitely a class of problems that doing a lot of the code doesn't necessarily like I'm not inclined to think about, because I'm literally only think about time like today.
