The Future of JavaScript
The size of front-end code bases has grown exponentially. Webpack and many other tools like it, like Babel, were written in JavaScript. TurboPack borrowed some of the lessons of tools like Basil at Google that were used to run modern repos with billions of lines of code. It's written Rust not only because it gets better like native level performance when it's processing files or interfacing with your file system but also has a new architecture that focused on incremental compilation.
