The Differences Between the Thunderbolt and the ME 109 and Fokkowulf 190
The thunderbolt is surprisingly agile. It's more agile than you would think if you looked at it in comparison to one of those German aircraft. You also have to realize that at the stage, the German pilot quality is starting to degrade. I would be fascinated to see if there was any research to see the German pilot survival rate between people shot down by P-47s versus P-51s or P-38s. That would be interesting to me.
