Elijah is not only his friend and mentor, but he's also the lord's anointed n the time. And there something about that kind of loyalty that's another level to the story is where he says, i'm going to be loyal to you. Here's elijha trying to live as the lord taught him to live, because there's no one more loyal than god in our stories. It just makes you think he respected him so much, because he just was like, i just want to be just like you, right? That's what i want to do.
