The qualities that make Adams so endearing and accessible to us made him an anathema to 18th century Americans. He's a man poorly suited for his time, but actually I argue perfectly suited for the moment. And thank goodness we have him in this mix. Oh yeah, he's so boring about him. He's soboring about him. But here's a real, real, real human being at the center of it always. The guy you want to be with at the at the reception. He's the one I want to have a beer with.
