Respect the Rebellious Child
When i brought up the subject of respect, many of the african american parents assumed that respect came from obedience. That was the way they respected their rens, by being obedient. And so we had some very interesting discussions about obedience, um which i think they understood. So another thing that you taught me is to elicit from the parents in front of you what their hopes and dreams are for their kids. Get them to articulate it, think about it and articulate it,. Then you would use those as the motivation for teaching. No what kinds of interactions will help you achieve gols for your children? Could you talk all bit more about that?
