Draper's Father, a Wesleyan Physicist

John william draper andrew dixon white were two of the most influential scientists in the 19th century. They are credited with helping to secularize the sciences by creating a conflict between science and religion. Draper's father was an itinerant minister who converted to methodism when he was 11 years old. He went on to become head of chemistry at new york university, where he became known for his photo chemistry. Davi is also one of the earliest scientists to practised astrophotography.
