Amir Zydan is an associate professor of medicine at Yale University. He directs the early therapy program and leukemia disease aligned research team. The definition of acute myeloid leukemia was so heavily dependent on the percent of myeloblasts that you see on the bone marrow or even the peripheral blood. Now, he says, different classifications are putting more weight on genetic landscape rather than just morphology.
