Is There a New Model of Conservation?

The wars waged against gray wolf, the grizzly, the coyote, the buffalo have also been wars against the indigenous peoples that have actively tended the lands and waters of turtle island since the beginning of time. How can these lineages of violence inform how we go about protecting spaces in the future? Well, certainly i agree that indigenous sovereignty matters. I think that that large scale changes, changes that operate in sufficient scale to matter, have to be effected through a political process. And i would hope that your listeners, if they're committed to a more peaceful, prosperous and just future for human and non human life, they would consider putting their name on the ballot and running for office.
