The Relationship Between Whiteness and Middle Class Status in Brazil

In your book, you focus squarely on the middle class in Brazil. And so that begs the question, who are the middle class and how do you understand their relationship with whiteness? In my book, I tend to define the middle class as the structural position of individuals that have traditional liberal and technical professions like wires, engineers, architect, doctors, civil servants,. small business owners, managers, teachers, college professors. The key point here is that if you look at the subjectivity of white Brazilians, you see how the middle class has emerged as a status group.
