Streaming has largely taken this residual income away because streaming companies are notoriously opaque about their numbers. So they can just sort of like flash the numbers and give almost close to no residual earnings, right? Some of these writers and actors have actually shown like people the checks, the residual checks they get. And it's like 27 cents, that kind, like it's really, really sad, right? Or it's like very sad, like for 10 episodes they get maybe $28 in residual checks, you know, it's just not sustainable," he says.
