I think Gabby is absolutely right on the strike issue. They've got themselves into a ridiculous position that was clearly not going to be sustainable. The answer is going to lie in either a one-off payment of some kind or bringing forward next year's pay increase to January. There are ways of coming up with an answer, which is not undermining completely the integrity of the payer review recommendation. But nonetheless, giving the RCN's enough that you can reach a compromise. And I think if you listen to what the RCN is saying, they are willing to meet the government halfway.
