The Importance of a Co-Ed School in Colombia

In Colombia becoming a mathematician was not something that people would think about. My parents wanted me to have a good education. Most of the schools for girls at the time were girls' schools and most of them were religious. And there were very few co-ed schools and one of them was the French school. In first grade I learned set theory and I learned how with manipulatives in the playground.
