The Pros and Cons of Dual Appointments

At Michigan you hold several academic appointments in different departments including anesthesiology and psychiatry. Do you have any tips for people who work in similar cross-disciplinary fields on the pros and cons of the dual appointment? At Michigan there's no disadvantage of having dual appointments my primary appointment now is in anesthesiology because most pain research groups are in anesthesia departments rather than in rheumatology divisions which again from whence I came.
