There were scattered, usually mostly sophartic, jewish communities in england, the netherlands, germany, france, and also in north america and the cribbian. A large fraction of these joined masonic lodges. And some lodges were very welcoming and included many jews. Some excluded jews but as happened with all these different communities, once some jews were masons, then, even if they weren't welcome in some masonic circles, they could simply form their own lodges.
