Meaning and Fulfillment in Relationships

An activity is experienced as meaningful when we feel that it has meaning for others. For example, a child shows his father a picture he has made a great effort to paint. This kind of affectionate interest instills the child with an essential sense of meaning. The things I do are meaningful to others, not to just anyone, but to a person I love deeply.
