I think there's an element where people who get really into sort of a Marxist ideas of left politics also gravitate towards a slightly conspiratorial view of everything. People look to why that's often what fuels Saudi ZFobia and anti-immigration sentiments, but it is what makes people think something's going wrong with society fundamentally. And so you get this issue where, you know, we're in a big stagnation at the moment, the cost of living is tight, etc. It's sort of more reassuring to think that someone's conspiring against you than just that the world is this complicated and difficult - no one really knows what to do.
