That line, why do you persecute me is also so rich because Paul's response is, well, who are you, Lord? And a persecuting. The point there is Christ's unity with believers, right? This is going to be something Paul thinks about and writes about throughout his letter. It's only in the Pauline letters that you have that image of the church as the body of Christ. we don't realize it was Paul who gave it to us.
