Getting a Good Study Bible

Getting a good study bible and consulting the best resources by trained scholar offering their commentaries can be extremely beneficial. I always talk to my students about how context matters. And t when we read something out of context, yet we can certainly find meaning and application there. But when we read scripture in its original context, its historical setting, we see what it meant to these authors and these original audiences  and then we look for personal meaning. So context matters. i just feel like the application process is so much more powerful and profound and enriched.
