The Rosenbergs were bad guys. You can argue maybe they didn't deserve the death penalty. The people who sided with the communists in the 1930s and 40s, you know, some of them may have been dupes. Even the liberals of the progressive movement, vast numbers of them were racists and eugenicists. And conservatives weren't nowhere near that thing.
