In the 1950s, there was concern because the incidence of heart disease was going up. Ansel Keys had done a study where it looks as if he cherry picked the data to show a direct correlation between saturated fat and heart attacks. This really created this standard American diet food pyramid. And, what happened is, it made everybody fat. We don't need to talk about COVID, but it actually made people susceptible to dying of COVID more easily.
