In 2011, I entered myself into YouTube's Next Up contest. Part of the winnings was going to New York City and going through a five day YouTube camp. At the end of that trip, they gave each one of us an envelope with a check for $35,000 in cash. "I had never seen that kind of money in my life," she says.
