How Did You Get to Know Rabbi Sack?
By 14 or 15, i was an atheist in the sense that a lot of scientific kids think religion is about. Did god create the world, or is it some other thing? And if if it's not that god created the world, well then you have to be an atheist,. So i was on that track. I was generally hostile to religions, in part from having a jewish heritage and thinking, you know, christianity in particular, persecuted the jews. Was only once i studied morality that i i began to realize, holy cow, religion evolved. Religion is part of human nature just as much as language, or aesthetics or play.
