The ETA can be a pain in the neck if you've been used to hopping on a plane from Germany or France and coming to Canada. It's valid for a period of five years, but it can be quite a problem for people who believe it or not are Canadian permanent residents. "It's made for some very interesting problems over the holiday period," he says.
