Are There Other Confounding Variables?
It's a little bit hard to tell for sure from this kind of study, but it's one thing that you might reasonably conclude from these studies. But what Tom Jefferson would say, and I think it's not a bad point, is that the reason RCTs are the gold standards is a control for the confounding variables. Once you factor in, the studies, I don't want to throw them out. They seem to indicate something, but that's the grain of salt, right? Right, absolutely.
