The Culture of Comfort Food
Kay Prankithog is the author of cookbook barn, recipes and stories from my Thai home. Although she's based in the UK she was brought up in Thailand so I asked her what comfort food is in Thai? Is there a literal translation? She said to me, no it's more in a translation of it would be aha, which means easy, easy food. It's something your mum or your grandma or your nanny or whoever did for you. Kay's favorite dishes include hot jasmine rice with fish sauce on it but then a holy basil dish which has any protein you want stir-fryed.
