The Gifted Gap

Gifted programmes are supposed to be meritocracies, places where the brightest children are given a chance to shine. Grissam and reading say that's not the way things work in practice. The data have how healthy the parent says that child is. We know average, white students and black students enter kindergarten at different ages. White parents are more likely to hold they're kids back at the start of schooling than black students are.
