Are You a Good Professor?

If you are given tenure at an institution, it does kind of make you a rock star. It is still possible to be fired, but the circumstances have to be pretty extraordinary. You want to be sighted pretty often. Wan to be published pretty often. And so, as counter intuitive as it may sound to an outsider, definition of what makes a good professor. If you spend all your time teaching graduates, or teaching folks, instead of researching and publishing, then you are hurting your career prospects. But will will show you how the business works.
