Is the Doctrine of Unconditional Election the Gospel?

I really think this doctrine of unconditional election should help us in our evangelism. It just kind of, it frees us of the burden of trying to figure out who god's elect are. I'm pretty uncomfortable with reducing the gospel to that. Particular heading of theology, while at the same time, i want to acknowledge that unconditional election is true.
