With index funds, you get no control over your holdings. There's a big difference between a good company and a stock that's going to have positive returns. The idea that you're losing control buy buying an index fund is flowd thinking. You can't control your outcome regardless. Best thing that you can do for the reliability of your outcome is diversified.
