The Fear of Failure

I was scared for a long time after that. He never showed up in my class again. There was always, for me, the possibility that he was going to show up again. When I would go to my car after class, I was still afraid. Maybe a few weeks later, I saw him, and he was pumping gas for the car in front of me. I kind of freaked out. I didn't realize until that point how really scared I had been.
