The Difference Between a Thousand and a Thousand and One, You Know?

On a logarithmic scale, differences between numbers become smaller or less important as the numbers increase. Once you're getting into the differences between 28 and 29, these are not very meaningful distinctions any more. Some people who live in hunter gatherer societies tend to conceive of quantities in a logarhythmic sense, rather than an arithmetic sense. And so i think this could be a very insitful way of breaking through this issue.
