The Rising Tide of Colours by F Scott Fitzgerald
Lathrop stoddard is obliquely referenced in the very first chapter of the great gatsby. He would send these glowing profiles of hitler and muselini as dispatches from abroad, you know, approvingly citing what they were doing in those countries at those times. So that's fitzgerald kind of like shifting at a touch to comment on stoddard in his rising tide of color. The idea is, if we don't look out, the white race will be utterly submerged. It's all scientific stuff. It's been proved. And yet we still see this rhetoric proliferate in our media. A lot of black historians have been ing about this.
