Desmond toto grew up like other black children in a ghetto township marked by deprivation. He stressed that his childhood was not devoid of joy. But there were many moments which he traced as early stirrings of his sense of injustice. Through my mother, iam related to the sand people, who are the earliest inhabitants of southern africaand and probably some of the earliest human beings. The backdrop to all the history desmond too lived through and shaped.
